Ged originally hails from Dublin, Ireland. He currently coaches various age groups throughout Northern Sports Academy & FC Northern.

Ged moved to the UK in the early 2000s signing for then Premier League side Ipswich Town. Prior to this Gerard played and captained one of Ireland's most successful grassroots clubs, Cherry Orchard FC. While at Cherry Orchard he also had a number of trials with teams such as Coventry City & Manchester City.

Now coaching is his passion he enjoys working with young players and developing them into the best they can be. "for me it's not about projecting our expectations onto the children but challenging them to be comfortable in possession and to work it out for themselves, we are here to facilitate their development not take over".

He lists Zinedine Zidane as one of his favourite players. "he had it all skill, technique, he was effortless on the ball and he also had that nasty streak".

Ged has previously had spells with Blackburn & Everton currently scouts for Burnley FC and manages Liverpool John Moore's Ladies team.
